Occupational TherapistMy Story
I was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1967 and graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy in 1991. In 1996 I accepted a friend’s invitation to work in the USA as a travel therapist and soon realized that this is where I was supposed to be. While travelling, I was disappointed by the lack of yoga classes, a hobby I had enjoyed for years, so I decided to become a yoga teacher and studied the Integral Yoga 200-hour teacher training at Satchidananda Ashram-Yogaville and have taught classes ever since! I have worked in various Occupational settings in Australia, the UK and the USA since 1991 and now have dual USA and Australian citizenship. I enjoy living in the USA with my husband and sons and we regularly visit family and friends in Australia. I do miss my Australian family and friends yet believe in my heart that it’s no mistake that I live in the south of the USA, because I’m blessed with the skills and driven with passion to help empower others to enjoy happiness, health and success with my company, Australian Accents.
My Values and Beliefs
In my 30 years plus experience in healthcare, I have met thousands of people who would prefer to be healthier; yet don’t know how. I formed Australian Accents in 2015 after noticing the sharp rise in younger people suffering with chronic illness and people of all ages suffering with depression and pain, because I felt that with my experience and skills, I could make a difference and somehow, it’s my life purpose and mission to help them. I personally have encountered and overcome multiple traumas, both physical and emotional throughout life and believe these experiences were vehicles for me to understand and help others. Everyday someone tells me “I like your accent” and often say “I could listen to you talk all day,” which only reaffirms that I’m doing the right thing! Thank you for visiting my site, for reading this far and helping to share my mission with others!
